Applying for a UK visa in the Philippines
This page explains how you can apply for a visa to come to the UK if you are currently in the Philippines.
If you currently have temporary permission to stay in the Philippines (for example, as a student or a visitor), you can only apply for some types of UK visa – see ‘More information’ below.
Time Frame for a UK Visa Philippines Application
The UK Visa Philippines application is up to 3 months before your date of travel to the UK. We strongly advise you not to confirm your travel arrangements until you have received your visa. Checklist for UK Visa Philippines Application
* prepare the supporting documents that you will need;
* be ready to enroll your fingerprints and photograph (known as biometric information) at our visa application centre in Manila; and
* be able to pay the visa application fee. The UK Visa Philippines application fees and guides pages explain how much your visa application will cost.

If you are applying under the points-based system, you should provide all the documents specified in the guidance for your visa category. For each document, you should also provide any information or explanation that may help us to make our decision.
If you wanted other UK Visa Philippines Application, you should provide documents that:
* support the statements that you make in your UK Visa Philippines application; and
* show that the information in your application is true.
We will only consider documents submitted with your UK Visa Philippines application. You cannot submit documents after you have completed your UK Visa Philippines application at the visa application centre, unless our staff ask you for them.
For every document that you provide, you must include the original document and a photocopy. This includes a copy of your passport bio-data page (the page containing your photograph). Please ensure that the photocopies are of good quality and can be read easily. If you do not provide a photocopy of each document, we might not return your original documents to you.

Bank Certificate Verification System (BCVS)
If you want to request bank certificates to support your visa application, we advise you to use the official BCVS request form (PDF 78KB opens in a new window).
The bank will then confirm the information on the BCVS, allowing UK Border Agency staff at the British Embassy to verify the certificates’ authenticity.
This system has been developed in conjunction with the Bankers Association of The Philippines and Philonline, under agreement of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Banks currently registered with the BCVS are: Allied Bank, Asian United Bank, Bank of Commerce, BDO, BPI, Chinabank, Export and Industry Bank, Landbank, Maybank, Metropolitan Bank, PNB, Phil.Veterans, RCBC, PBCom and Standard Chartered, Union Bank, Security Bank Corporation, United Coconut Planters Bank.
Points-based system applications – financial evidence
UK Visa Philippines Application is under the points-based system we will only accept bank statements from certain financial institutions. For details, see our list of financial institutions.
To apply for a UK Visa Manila, you must:
* complete and submit a visa application form online; and
* visit our visa applciation centre in Manila.
You will need to print out and sign your completed form. If you do not have access to a printer when you apply, you will be able to log in and print out the form later.

When you have completed your online application, you will receive an email message containing your application number (also known as a ‘GWF reference’). Please make a note of this number.
UK Visa Payment Instruction
There are currently 2 ways that customers can pay their UK Visa Fee.
Payment at Union Bank
Ask for the UK Visa Price and this can be made in cash, at any branch of Union Bank. Applicants should note that visa fees paid at the Pasong Tamo Branch will not be subject to any additional bank charge. The branch address is:
Kingswood Arcade Vito Cruz Ext. corner Pasong Tamo,
Visa fees paid at any other Union Bank branch will be subject to additional bank charge of 150 peso.
* pay the fees in cash; and
* bring a photocopy of your passport data page when you pay at the bank.
Your UK Visa Philippines application must be submitted within 10 working days after you have paid your visa application fee. The bank fee receipt will only be valid for 10 working days from the date of payment.
Please keep the receipt of you UK Visa Philippines payment slip given at the bank as proof of payment and bring it with you to the visa application centre when you submit your visa application.
Managers cheque (service charge applies)
You may obtain a managers cheque from any Philippine registered bank nationwide. Only managers cheques with the correct fee and payable to ‘British Embassy’ will be accepted.
There will be a bank charge when you purchase a managers cheque for the UK Visa Philippines application and the cost varies from bank to bank. You must bring the managers cheque with you when you attend the visa application centre.
No cash UK Visa Philippines application fee payments will be accepted at the visa application centre. We will not refund your fee if your application is unsuccessful.
